Farrakhan asks students and professors: Are you truly educated?

CHICAGO (FinalCall.com) - The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan told students and faculty at Chicago State University January 25 that they have to “break free” from the educational system that has been set up by their oppressors to maintain control.

“The Architects of our education never intended for us to escape the circle of activity that takes us out from under their control, so if we are still governed by the controlling systems of our former slave masters, then we yet have to break free, so Jesus said ‘you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free,’” said Minister Farrakhan as he delivered much needed guidance and straight talk to over 1,000 at the Jacoby Dickens center. The current student enrollment at CSU is a little over 7,000.

The Minister commanded audience attention for nearly two hours including a question and answer period. He said education should be used to solve the problems of humanity, not to keep the systems of the oppressor in power. With all the educated people within the Black community, others are still controlling the economics and educational systems within Black communities.

“When we leave here tonight, you will know what to do with your life and how you can develop the gift that God has already placed in you—cultivate that gift and use it for the liberation not only of our people, but all of humanity.”

Hosted by the Chicago State University African-American Studies Program and the African-American Male Resource Center, the Minister spoke on the topic: “Education: Black People and the Future.”

“He who gives you the diameter of your knowledge prescribes the circumference of your activity,” said Min. Farrakhan. “The former slave master is the architect of your education. If a man will not treat you right, what will make you think he will teach you right?” he asked.

“If we as a people are non-productive, then somebody prescribed the diameter of your knowledge,” he said. “If you got a good education, why have we not produced what we need as a people?” he asked.

“How much control do you have over where you live and if not, why not if you are educated? If you are educated, what are you producing that proves you are an educated person? If you’re not productive, you’re not educated.”

Creating new rulers

Minister Farrakhan said “government is formed to meet the requirements of the growth of the people” and educators should use the example of Jesus, who was a “loving dictator.” His followers were called “disciples.” They were disciplined according to the teachings of Jesus, however, his desire was for them to grow in knowledge telling them, “Greater works than I do, shall you do.”


“If Jesus is the Messiah and the Messiah is God-incarnate, then Jesus was not trying to make some ignorant stupid worshippers, Jesus was trying to make people into himself, so that there would be a nation of gods on our planet!” said the Minister. “He who is the architect of your liberation becomes your teacher and your guide to help you understand your self-interests then he can go away and you can take it from there.”

Minister Farrakhan used the example of Jesus throughout the evening to demonstrate that a good teacher or professor should teach the students to use what is being taught as a base, inspiring them to be critical thinkers with the desire to build upon and even go beyond what they are being taught.

“These young people that are gathered here—some with their parents and also with professors—our young people represent the strongest and finest generation of Black people that have ever been born in this wilderness of America. They are so different and so strong until now there’s a gap between our young people and their parents, our young people and their elders.”

“There’s a divine reason for that. The elders must understand that we are the product of mis-education, for if we were properly educated, we wouldn’t be as a people in the condition that we are in,” said the Minister. “Our condition is a testimony against our educational pursuits.”

The Muslim leader said some of Jesus’ disciples failed to see the value of the youth, and the same thing is happening today. Some religious leaders ignore the youth because they may not have money to tithe, but they are very valuable in the sight of God. He reminded the audience of Jesus’ words in the Bible: “Suffer the little children to come unto me, for of such is the Kingdom of God.”

“The minds of your babies have gone beyond the reach of your knowledge,” said Min. Farrakhan. “You don’t have anything to deal with that kind of mind, and that’s why they are offering our babies Ritalin drugs because they cannot control the babies! There’s nothing wrong with your children there’s something wrong with the education and the so-called educators!”

Outsiders in control

The Minister said during his recent travels to the Caribbean, he discovered that despite the fertile soil there, island nations import food from the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. It is for this reason Black people worldwide are the leading suffers of diabetes, high blood pressure and certain cancers.

“When somebody else is producing your food, and you are dumb enough to eat from your enemy, and he makes it look good he makes it taste good and your taste buds are deceiving you into thinking that it is good,” said the Minister. “What are you eating? Who is feeding you?”

“With all this education we’re a crippled people,” he lamented.

The social aspects of college life are well known: the parties, alcohol and drug use along with the mingling of the sexes, but the real purpose of education is sometimes an afterthought. Many parents worry about these factors when preparing to send their children off to college.

Minister Farrakhan said real education should properly prepare a students for future self-sufficiency by teaching them critical thinking, the science of farming, science of life, and the importance of the earth. Real education makes real men out of the young male students, not men who use women as sexual playthings.

“That is very bad when you have a college education and you disrespect your female, and you look at her as something only for pleasure and after you have pleasure, you discard her, but yet she’s pregnant with your seed and you walk away from her as though she means nothing to you,” said the Minister. “How can you be educated and don’t know how to respect your woman? How can you say you are educated and don’t know how to protect your female. Real college teaching makes a man out of you! Real professors make you a man that is not going to play with a woman!”

To futher illustrate the point, the Minister asked if there were any members of the Five Percent Nation in the audience and a few stood up. The Minister pointed out the Five Percenters refer to the females connected to them as “Earths.”

“If the woman is your earth then she’s everything!” said the Minister. “When you call her your earth you’re saying that everything you need to make life what life should be is right sitting up in a woman that we are mistreating. So when you call her earth then honor and respect her as earth and don’t spit on the earth, don’t mistreat the earth, take care of the earth and the earth will take care of you and me.”

A sense of urgency

Prior to Minister Farrakhan’s message, he toured the the Aquaponics Department a few blocks away from where he was to deliver his message. The facility has been open since the summer of 2010. They are raising tilapia fish in a controlled continuously circulating water system, plants are grown hydroponically and the emphasis is on establishing urban gardening programs. This would solve the problem of “food deserts” that exist where Blacks live on the city’s South and West sides.

Students, faculty, and the community should support CSU’s president Dr. Wayne Watson because he is thinking “outside the box” as demonstrated by the Aquaponics program and other enlightening and productive initiatives on the campus, said Min. Farrakhan.

Dr. Kelly Harris, director of CSU’s African-American studies department told the audience they have a responsibility to understand the true value of education, not just focus on the material benefits.

“We take that one purpose of increasing our bank account as the reason for getting an education but generally, we lose sight of the purpose for education,” said Dr. Harris. “When we talk about education, we need to transform our condition. This is really the value of education,” he added.

He went on to say some of his colleagues were upset and uncomfortable with Min. Farrakhan’s appearance on campus, however, the Minister has the solutions needed to solve problems plaguing society.

“How can anybody be comfortable with the state of Black America?” asked Dr. Harris. “Nobody in here should be comfortable. We all need a sense of urgency about the problems, we all need to figure out a way to deal with this education problem and understanding what education is.”

As an African American studies professor, Dr. Harris said he would be doing a disservice to his students if he taught about prominent Black leaders, and failed to include Min. Farrakhan.

“If I’m teaching about Black leadership in America and I leave out Minister Farrakhan, whether I agree with him or not, if I leave out Minister Farrakhan, that tells you something about my education,” Dr. Harris told the crowd. “I might be educated, but if you are educated and you leave out Minister Farrakhan, you’re just an educated fool.”

Following Minister Farrakhan’s message, Dr. Harris told The Final Call he was very pleased.

“It was a great turnout, it was a powerful message, it was a timely message and a message that will give people a charge. It’s not just talking to people, it’s giving people a charge to do something,” said Dr. Harris.

“Minister Farrakhan brought to them tonight knowledge, wisdom, understanding and a vision, because they represent the future leaders of tomorrow,” said Student Minister Ishmael R. Muhammad, Min. Farrakhan’s assistant at Mosque Maryam, the international headquarters of the Nation of Islam. “Chicago State University received a blessing and the Minister also received a blessing. It was a double blessing because as you can see, the Minister enjoys and loves not only teaching, but he loves young people,” he added.

Dr. Watson, told The Final Call Minister Farrakhan’s message was “powerful.”

“Minister Farrakhan’s primary focus was looking at education and those tenets of education that can be the foundation for young men and young ladies as they go through a university. He had an educational message for the students and without a doubt, I know the students and the faculty greatly appreciated it,” said Dr. Watson.

Strength to oppose dangerous plots against Africa, Black people is needed now, says Nation of Islam minister
HARLEM, New York (FinalCall.com) - “We must speak truth to power or die! We must not be afraid to tell the truth even if it means we lose our lives because there is nothing more precious in this universe than truth,” said the Nation of Islam's leader while delivering a keynote address at the Millions March in Harlem, where a crowd stretched for blocks down Malcolm X Boulevard.

The gathering in the historic Mecca for Black culture and political thought was organized by the December 12th Movement to demand an end to the U.S.-NATO military assault on Libya, to denounce imperialist moves to recolonize Africa and oppose Mayor Bloomberg's policies activists complain are hurting Blacks.

Activists, anti-war advocates and political leaders Aug. 13 decried U.S. designs on Africa and Black suffering in New York before the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan's message punctuated their call for an end to war and devious plans to misuse Africa, alongside demands for justice inside the “world's greatest democracy.”

While America and Western nations use noble words, their intentions in Libya and Africa are evil and their promises made only to deceive nations and acquire their resources, Minister Farrakhan said. Today's leaders must not compromise or sugarcoat truth to gain an advantage or benefit from governments whose world is on its way out, he warned.

“We are in great trouble as we speak and if our leaders will not tell us and guide us properly then they're going down and they'll take us down with them. This is why the Bible says ‘if the blind lead the blind both fall in the ditch' and the Honorable Elijah Muhammad said the ditch represents hell and destruction. Right now as a people we're in hell and we are being destroyed and there are forces that are planning our destruction,” said Min. Farrakhan.

The Minister warned U.S. involvement in Libya, in North Africa, and other parts of the Motherland is designed to keep the continent weak and open to outside control. “When Africa rises, when Africa shows the world what she can do and contribute to the onward movement of world civilization, when Africa takes her rightful place, all Africans in the Diaspora, nearly 500 million of us will rise in every society where we are. So the threat to Africa is a threat to every son and daughter of Africa wherever they may be found on the planet,” said Min. Farrakhan.

Regaining complete dominance over the Motherland requires removing Libya's revolutionary leader, who has supported development on the continent and acted as a leading force for a united Africa, and crushing leaders like Robert Mugabe, of Zimbabwe, for taking back land that rightfully belongs to Black people, he explained.
Despite being targeted by the two most expensive assassination attempts in world history, Col. Muammar Gadhafi is alive and his ideas and actions are threats to Western plots, said the Minister.

“Why would America want him (Col. Gadhafi) dead so bad that they would use the power of their military and the military of NATO to destroy this man's country? Bombing his infrastructure, destroying his communications, destroying the Man Made River Project, doing everything they can do to destroy the infrastructure of the country,” he said.

If Libya's leader survives and must use resources to rebuild his country, he will not be able to financially support the creation of a United States of Africa, the Minister noted.

Under the cover of United Nations Resolution 1973, Western nations are pursing assassination of a head of state and regime change, which are violations of international law.

America and her allies took $30 billion held in foreign banks from the Gadhafi government, giving it to the so-called rebel National Transitional Council, which is “an illegitimate government that they set up—a puppet regime to do the bidding of America and the West and not true service to the Libyan people,” said Min. Farrakhan.

He urged the rebel groups headquartered in their de facto capital of Benghazi to opt for elections and a negotiated settlement to curb bloodshed and end fighting prohibited by Muslims in the current month of fasting and prayer called Ramadan. The U.S. and her allies will never make good on their promises, the Minister warned the rebels, who America, England, France and Italy have declared Libya's rightful government.

Hypocrisy and plots against Gadhafi

The Minister noted the United Nations was prepared to give Col. Gadhafi and the Libyan Jamahiriya, his revolutionary government, a humanitarian award. A UN report praised Col. Gadhafi's government for protection of human rights, political rights, economic, social and cultural rights, the Minister said. The Gadhafi regime was also praised for treatment of religious minorities but before a March vote on the award, NATO forces started attacking Tripoli, Libya's capital, and hitting pro-Gadahfi forces with missiles in February.

The UN-authorized peacekeeping operation, which was put in the hands of NATO, turned into one-sided support for rebel forces deadlocked with forces loyal to Col. Gadhafi. NATO initiated a “no fly” zone against Gadhafi air forces and then directly attacked Gadhafi troops, though the UN resolution was supposed to simply protect civilians. Western leaders twisted the mission by saying civilians would not be safe so long as Libya's leader remained in power.

But while the media has mis-portrayed Col. Gadhafi as a tyrant, Min. Farrakhan told the truth of a man despised by the West: With the oil wealth of Libya, Col. Gadhafi raised the standard of living for his country, educated his people and upgraded infrastructure. He invested $33 billion in the Man Made River Project because he wanted the Libyan people to be agricultural scientists and not be held hostage by high food prices from Europeans.

Before Col. Gadhafi came to power, the life expectancy for Libyans was 44. It is now 75. Prior to Col. Gadhafi, Libyans had a 20 percent literacy rate, now it stands at 83 percent, and there is free education and medical care for all Libyans. Col. Gadhafi is also the only leader who has apologized for the Arab role in the trans-Atlantic slave trade, noted Min. Farrakhan.

Col. Gadhafi prefers to live in tents, not ostentatious palaces, and unlike many Arab rulers has declined to enrich himself off of his nation's wealth, he continued. While Arab states have seen protests calling for greater freedom, Libya's leader introduced participatory democracy known as the “Third Universal Theory,” which puts leadership in the hands of the people.

Instead of using oil wealth to carve out a personal fiefdom, Col. Gadhafi put $70 billion in an African Development Bank, which meant that African nations could borrow money without exorbitant interest rates and/or debt bondage to the International Monetary Fund or the World Bank, said Min. Farrakhan.

Col. Gadhafi invested $400 million, and with $100 million invested by other African nations, launched a satellite that allowed direct calls to Africa, bypassing European routing of calls, which meant $500 million in lost European revenue, he said.

Col. Gadhafi is neither a dictator nor the president, he is the guide of the revolution, said Min. Farrakhan.

“Muammar Gadhafi is dangerous to Western hegemony; he is dangerous to imperialists; he is dangerous to monopolists; he is dangerous to Western oligarchies. He is so dangerous that they feel he must be destroyed.”

A warning for Africa

“The African governments must not accept the false promises of America,” cautioned Min. Farrakhan. “What have they promised you that they delivered on their promise? So if you trust their empty promises then you deserve the hell that you get because they are liars and deceivers!”



The African Union must reject Western domination and calls to support the overthrow of Col. Gadhafi's government, he said. The African Union's refusal to honor an International Criminal Court arrest warrant for Col. Gadhafi was a good start, but the African Union must tell European powers to stop bombing Libya, or Africa will stop trade and no longer allow access to her natural resources, Min. Farrakhan said.

“So Africa, tell Hillary Clinton and all her representatives that come to you—tell them go to hell and drive them out of Africa! They think that you are the same lackey, the same flunkey, the same Uncle Tom that some of your predecessors were!”

Minister Farrakhan recalled that on two occasions during his world tours, when President Robert Mugabe was “the darling of the Commonwealth nations,” the Minister's delegation was not even allowed to land in Zimbabwe. On the third occasion, the delegation was allowed to land, but President Mugabe was no longer the friend of the West.

Joshua Nkomo and Robert Mugabe led the revolutionaries against the racist minority White government of Ian Smith, when Zimbabwe was known as Rhodesia. But as the revolutionaries were going to take the capital city Harare, they were summoned to England, where the U.S. and UK promised to buy back the land from the White farmers, who owned millions of acres of the most productive land, so land could be returned to Black people. In a short time, America and England reneged on the agreement and after two decades President Mugabe began to seize land from White farmers in 2000 and return the land to Zimbabweans. He has been branded a dictator and a pariah for his land reform policy.

Plots against Libya sign on assault on Nation of Islam

The plots against Col. Gadhafi and Libya are signs of plots at home against the Nation of Islam, which has suffered from negative propaganda and sanctions, with vicious opponents trying to cut off anything that might support the movement, said Min. Farrakhan. When privately owned Muslim security companies brought peace to public housing projects in the late 1980s and early 1990s, New York Republican Peter King, with the backing of the Anti-Defamation League and other Zionist groups, forced cancellation of contracts and held federal hearings. Rep. King has conducted hearings condemned as anti-Islamic witch hunts and is pushing a ban on lectures by Min. Farrakhan and Nation of Islam literature in federal prisons. The Justice Dept. recently agreed to probe NOI prison activity at the urging of the lawmaker.

Min. Farrakhan did not own any part of the security companies and did not receive any money from their contracts, but the intent was to hurt Min. Farrakhan regardless of the lives lost and violence suffered by public housing residents.

Describing many of America's powerful government officials and politicians as “robbers, thieves and cutthroats of the poor,” the Minister said they care nothing about the conditions of the Black, Brown and poor Whites suffering in the United States. It is hypocrisy to speak of a Libyan “humanitarian crisis” while ignoring massive suffering inside America, he said.

“I say to the government of the United States as the prophets of old said to the wicked of their day—come against me with all you've got! Come against me with all that you have and give me no respite and in the end, I will be standing because I'm standing with Allah and Allah is standing with me!” Min. Farrakhan said as the crowd cheered.

“But if you don't believe or half believe, then you will fear what they have visible power to do, but I know that they don't have what you think they have, and what they've deceived themselves into thinking that they have. Allah is sufficient for the Believer,” he said.

“So those of you that want to lead our people, if you say you believe in God or Christ, then demonstrate that by fearless, uncompromising, unwavering steadfastness in the pursuit of justice, freedom and equality. Otherwise you should sit down and get out of the way for those of us who know God will lead this struggle and we are the overcomers!” he said.

Illusion of democracy, progress in America

President Obama's perceived upward mobility is designed to deceive the masses into holding onto a system that is not designed to give Black people freedom, justice and equality, said Min. Farrakhan.

“I want to say to all of you, because you have a Black president does not mean that America is the home of the brave and the land of the free and everything is all right now because a Black man is taking care of the affairs of White people,” he said.

Urged on by wicked advisors, President Obama has ramped up drone attacks in Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia and now presides over the bombing of an African nation, the Minister noted. America is a “rogue government” with a president “surrounded by criminals” manipulated by unseen powers that impact global realities, he said.

“These are robbers and thieves in suits and ties and our brother (Obama) is the front man,” said Min. Farrakhan. “Sorry Brother Barack, you're trusting Satan and he will never give you the right information. You need to come sit with your brother, and I will not lie to you.”

Minister Farrakhan said he will never be a politician and will never compromise principles and truth for political progress.

And to those in the Zionist controlled media and organizations who continue the campaign to malign his character and try to create a misperception of the Minister in history, the Minister addressed directly: “We don't need you to write my history. You won't even be alive when my history is told,” said Min. Farrakhan. “When my history is written down in the generations you won't even be here to smell the heat from the pen. Now a man that talks like me is either crazy or he knows God and you can choose whatever one you want. I don't sound like a madman except to the weak and cowardly among you. I have God with me and what I speak from my mouth He answers.”

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.



There is a scripture in the Bible that reads, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace, and of the increase of his government of peace there shall be no end.” This is a great scripture to start a Father's Day message, because Isaiah the Prophet saw one coming that would be born of a woman, meaning he is like you and me, but, though he was born of a woman, a human being, yet the work that he did and the wisdom that he shared would be so magnificent that he would be called Wonderful, a Counselor, a Mighty God. Not Almighty, just Mighty God, the Everlasting Father. This one who was born of a woman would become a father, but he would be a father of an everlasting nation, and, of the increase of his government—but it is a special government, a government of peace—there shall be no end. That is powerful.

Think about the son or the daughter that you brought into this world that you have not even communicated with in years. Write your children if they are away from you, and do not be too proud to say 'Son, I have been wrong.' There is nothing wrong with that. Do you know your children will love you more if you could muster the courage to say, 'Daddy was wrong, but I intend to make it right and I hope you will forgive me for not being to you as I should.'

I want to take it from here to look at Jesus as a son who became a father, because every son ultimately becomes a father, and the quality of your sonship will determine the quality of your fatherhood.

Jesus submitted totally to The Father. Let us look at the words of Jesus and the actions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Jesus said, “Whatsoever I hear, that shall I speak. Whatsoever the Father commandeth me, that shall I do.” Whatever Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) heard from Allah (God), that he spoke, and whatever Allah (God) commanded him to do, that he did. He related to Allah (God) as an obedient son would relate to a father, and that is what qualified him to be the Father of a Nation of Peace. If we follow the example of Jesus, the example of Muhammad (PBUH), we would be good sons. Then, we too, could become good fathers.

When the disciples said to Jesus, “Master, teach us how to pray,” Jesus replied, “Pray on this wise: Our Father.” If He is “our” Father, then what He did for Jesus, He is able to do for you and me. If you want Allah (God) to father you, then, as Jesus was obedient to Him, we have to be obedient to Him. Jesus set such a perfect example, that all you have to do is put your foot down where he put his foot down. His Father will make you into what He made Jesus.

It is the same with Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He was a soldier and a commander, but Muhammad obeyed Allah (God), and everyone that obeyed Muhammad was raised to eminence from a low state. Do you want to be raised? Then you have to practice being a soldier, being obedient to a son, who is obedient to a father, who is obedient to Allah (God).

“Our Father which art in heaven?” What does that say to men? If you are a father, you should exist in your house in an elevated state. Everybody should look up to father. “Hallowed be thy name.” That which is hallowed is that which is sacred. Some of us did not have a father like that. We never looked up to our fathers.

“Thy Kingdom Come.” How do you know that Farrakhan is a father? Because, when we started in 1977 to rebuild the Nation of Islam, there was nothing, but I had something in my head from the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, and, with faith, we said, “Thy Kingdom Come” and we brought it in.

“Thy will be done.” As a father, you have to have vision, something in your head. What do you see? What do you want? Whatever you see and whatever you want that is of good, by faith you can bring it into existence. With Allah (God), there is nothing that you cannot do.

“Give us this day our daily bread.” Fathers, you have got these hungry children out there and you may have given them some bread yesterday, you may have sent your little payment, maybe last year, and you figured that what you sent last year was sufficient, but the prayer says, “Give us this day our daily bread.” That means every day a father has to be producing for his children and for his family.

“And lead us not into temptation.” When there is hunger in the house, when you do not have anything, you are really leading your family to be tempted. Satan is always there to tempt you for something that you need or want, but, by an illicit way to get it. If you are a good father, you do not lead your son into temptation, but you deliver him from evil. A father delivers his family from evil.

“Forgive us our trespassers as we forgive those who trespass against us, for Thine is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory, forever.” Every father knows he has messed up somewhere along the line. All of us have done it. So, we ask The God to forgive us for our shortcomings, but we must have a heart to forgive those who have been short with us, but, for how long? Forever! Evidently. That prayer is associated with that One that was born who would be an Everlasting Father.

The Holy Qur'an comes at it a little differently, but it is the same result. The oft-repeated prayer of the Muslims is called “Al-Fatihah,” meaning “The Opening.” If you say this prayer and live this prayer, it opens up everything of good for the servant. “Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Rahim,” meaning, “In the Name of Allah, The Beneficent, The Merciful.” The Commander is Beneficent; the Commander is Merciful. I am a soldier. Should not I be beneficent? Should not I be merciful?

“Al-hamdu li-llahi Rabbi-l-‘alamin,” meaning, “All praise belongs to Allah (God), the Lord, Nourisher, Sustainer of all the worlds.” So do not do your good deeds, dad, seeking praise or seeking honor. Do good because it is right to do good. One of my children called me and said, “Happy Father's Day, Daddy. I have a gift for you.” I said, “You are the gift. You don't ever have to send me a card to enrich the already rich or buy me something that I don't really need. Just be a good son and a good daughter. That is the gift to me as a father.”

“Maliki yaumi-d-din,” meaning, “Master of the Day of Judgment” or the “Law of Requital.” He is not a judge, He is a Master. I cannot necessarily be that, but I can be a judge. When the father comes into the house and there is an argument, put it on the table without favoritism. I cannot favor my wife. I cannot favor my elder son. I cannot favor the baby. I have to come straight with justice, because I represent God in my house.

“Iyya-ka na‘budu wa iyya-ka nasta'in,” meaning, “Thee alone do we worship. Thine aid we seek.” There is a singularity of focus of the Believer in God, and what you, as a husband want from your wife is singularity of focus on you and on me, but we are so deficient that we create adultery. The woman is not adulterous by nature. She is adulterous by circumstance. She would be faithful to us if we could complete her desire for a man. We do not care whether she completes our desire as a woman. It seems like we are always looking someplace, but I am here to tell you that the Qur'an says, “One is better for you, if you but knew.”

“Ihdi-na-s-sirata-lmu-staqim. Sirata-lladhina an‘amta ‘alaihim,” meaning, “Guide us on the right path. The path of those upon whom thou hast bestowed favors.” Every father should be in a position to give favors to his children. When they obey and do good, favor them, and the ones that rebel, do not favor them. Then, the one that did not get the favor will say to the other one, “Daddy sure gave you a nice bike. I want one, too.” The favored one will say, “Yeah, but Daddy said you are always disobeying him. He has the money to get you a bike, but, you are acting a fool, boy. You need to get your act together.” The next thing you know, the one who wants to win favor brings his report card grades up and begins to do things that please the father. Then, dad can say, “Now I can favor you, because you favored me by being obedient. Thank you, son. Here is your bike. Thank you, daughter. Here is your bike.”

To me, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad has been a Wonderful Counselor, a Wonderful Father. Once, he called me to Chicago and gave me guidance on a speech that he wanted me to make. In my stupidity, I thought I did not want to do it the way he wanted me to do it. He saw that in me, and, very gently, he said, “Brother, I sit right here at my dining room table and I order things for you all around the globe, like a god. I bought thousands of acres of land for you, but I never left my table. I asked them to describe the land, and when I got a description, I said, ‘That's a good piece. Buy that.'” He said, “I do not leave my dining room. Surely, I can show you how to make a speech in Atlanta and win.” I said, “Yes, sir,” and I took my notes. It was one of the best speeches I ever made at that time. He told me that with that speech, if I obeyed him, I would be in the history of 40 countries on this Earth. I made the speech exactly like he told me, and I have found friends all over the Earth. In all the countries that I have been to, I have friends that he made for me by his work.

When you look at your children, thank Allah (God) for the women or the woman that bore your sons or your daughters. Be kind to them and help them in rearing your children. Think about the son or the daughter that you brought into this world that you have not even communicated with in years. Write your children if they are away from you, and do not be too proud to say, “Son, I have been wrong.” There is nothing wrong with that. Do you know your children will love you more if you could muster the courage to say, “Daddy was wrong, but I intend to make it right and I hope you will forgive me for not being to you as I should.”

You have got to start making amends. You have got to start reconciling. You have got to start opening up to your children.

CHICAGO (FinalCall.com) - The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan told hundreds gathered for a town hall meeting here that those who resist the enemy and fight for justice should be supported and defended, and Black institutions should remain controlled by Black communities.

“Now, there's a few things I want to say tonight about how the enemy's pattern never changes. Once you understand the methodology and the modus operandi of the enemy, when you see your brother and sister being assaulted, instead of running away from them, you should run to them to get their side of the story before you make your judgment,” Minister Farrakhan told the crowd gathered at the Harold Washington Cultural Center June 8.
In a presentation and town hall meeting also viewed nationally via internet webcast, officials from the cultural center updated the community regarding their protracted legal battle and also countered media claims of mismanagement by the center's officials and nepotism aimed at former Alderwoman Dorothy Wright Tillman who worked tirelessly to bring the cultural center into existence.

The Minister said the enemy assaults the character of a leader, tells lies and then gets the media to support the lies. Then when those who lack facts read the accounts of those within the media, they begin to believe it and proceed to spread the misinformation and disinformation.

The use of false witnesses is also a reliable weapon in the arsenal of the enemy's wicked defamatory schemes. Mentioning leaders such as Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, Marcus Garvey, W.E.B. Dubois and Adam Clayton Powell, the Minister said they were maligned in the media, and in many cases, betrayed by those within their inner circle. This is a difficult road that faces all Black leaders who desire to represent the legitimate aspirations of their people.

“If we are going to be free, we have to be willing to pay the price. There is no easy road in building God's kingdom,” Minister Farrakhan said.

The Minister said Dorothy Wright Tillman has always been an outspoken defender of the people. While alderman, she insisted that Black contractors receive work in the city and was never a politician that could be easily moved from her positions. While many politicians seem to adopt an self-serving and greedy attitude, Ms. Tillman always worked to serve the people.



“Of all politicians that we have elected that have done good works, Dorothy Tillman is the only one that left office and built an institution for her people,” said Min. Farrakhan. “And bringing reparations to the table in the city council, now, you have to admire a woman that recognizes that this government and people owe Black people something and we've never been paid, and you must never think that a Black president in the White House is payment for 450 years of evil and injustice.”

“I'm here to defend the honor, the integrity, the warrior spirit of a woman and to defend her legacy because this cultural center represents what's deep within her being for us. How she used her skill in politics to get money to build this institution,” said Min. Farrakhan. “Who would want to take such as thing away from us, and why would we permit it?” the Minister asked.


Minister's support

Early in March, Dorothy Wright Tillman spoke with Minister Farrakhan in Pittsburgh, when they appeared on the Bev Smith Show's Town Hall Meeting on “The Disappearing Black Community”. Ms. Tillman discussed some of the challenges they were facing surrounding the Harold Washington Cultural Center, and Minister Farrakhan said he would meet with her about it when they returned to Chicago.

After meeting with Ms. Tillman and looking over the paperwork Minister Farrakhan brought Student National Secretary Berve Power Muhammad into the mix along with his legal expertise and the resources of his Chicago-based law firm Power and Dixon. Atty. Muhammad looked at the paperwork and determined that evidence suggests impropriety on the part of not only Shore Bank, but also possibly the City of Chicago and the City Colleges of Chicago.

Minister Farrakhan also brought in well-connected and long-time aide Leonard F. Muhammad calling him “a master tactician and strategist” to advise the Tillman family in this matter.



According to officials, the Harold Washington Cultural Center is currently worth $15 million and sits in a prime location. The U.S. economic downturn has hit the area hard, and the loss of the 2016 Olympic Games slowed some business investment, but there is still potential for economic development.

Atty. Muhammad after looking into the case discovered that the original lender, Shore Bank, appeared to make money off mortgage payments made by Tobacco Road Inc., applying TRI's payments—totaling over $280,000—completely to interest and none to the principal amount of the loan.

During the discovery process, Atty. Muhammad found that City Colleges of Chicago became the plaintiff in the case in December 2010. Shore Bank and the City of Chicago engaged in a civil conspiracy with the goal of wrestling control of the Harold Washington Cultural Center away from Tobacco Road Inc., he charged.

About the center

The Harold Washington Cultural Center is owned and operated by Tobacco Road, Inc., a non profit organization, and supported through private donations, rental fees for events, and corporate sponsorships.

The majestic $19.5 million 45,000-square-foot limestone edifice rests on the corner of 47th Street and Martin Luther King Drive in the historic Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. A 20-foot high 750-pound sculpted statue of the late Mayor Harold Washington greets those approaching the center.

Mr. Washington—the first Black mayor to be elected in Chicago—grew up in the neighborhood, and was a beloved figure for many Blacks who supported him, unified behind him, and ultimately, lifted him into office. A shrewd politician and effective administrator, Mr. Washington died in 1987 just months into his second term. Since his death, the Black community in Chicago has been fragmented and powerless.

When construction was completed and the Harold Washington Cultural Center opened in August of 2004, its presence was a great source of pride in the community. With its state-of-the-art audio and video equipment, iron staircases, terrazzo marble floors and flat panel plasma screen televisions throughout, its beauty is only matched by it availability and functionality, according to its executive director, Jimalita Tillman.

Describing its 1,000 seat ComEd Performing Arts Theater, conference meeting rooms and reception areas, and computer lab, Ms. Tillman said she is proudest of the fact that many youth are able to take advantage of free programs while finding a “safe haven” at the center, especially those having to take the train or the bus through some of the city's hot spots to get home.

“Whether they have Prada or they have nada, our babies are fine here at the Harold Washington Cultural Center,” said Ms. Tillman. “Our doors are open because of the community. It is more than brick and mortar,” she added.

Troubled bank and deception?

In a very easy to understand manner, Atty. Muhammad delivered a legal summary describing just a few aspects of the case. He pointed to possible improprieties conducted by executives at Shore Bank and the City Colleges of Chicago.

As for Shore Bank, it was the largest Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) in the country. CDFIs operate with a stated mission and focus aimed at creating economic development in low to moderate income communities. In many cases, these are also traditionally underserved markets. On Aug. 20, 2010 Shore Bank was declared insolvent and taken over by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation with no advance notice given to the public.

At the time, Shore Bank was the 114th FDIC-insured institution to fail in the United States in 2010 and the 50th in the state of Illinois.

Many of the accounts and their assets were transferred to Urban Partnership Bank, and its existing branches, were reopened under the new banner.

The entire board of directors and executives who led Shore Bank as its financial condition worsened were fired.

“New management leading the efforts to save the institution and that did not contribute to the bank's problems will be retained,” read a supplemental fact sheet statement from the FDIC.

Minister Farrakhan said he was very proud of Atty. Muhammad, and advised the community to remain vigilant because often things are floated in the media, and then the community begins to echo what the corporate media says. This kills the spirit in the people to support and fight for what is right, and America's corrupt legal system, truth and justice often loses out to White Supremacy, he said.

“Brother Berve has laid out a beautiful legal defense, as he did a few years ago for a Black man that was killed while he was in custody. He fought the case and whipped everybody. If you were judging by the way he handled them and the lies he manifested in them, you would say he won the case, which he did. But when the deal went down, White supremacy prevailed,” said Min. Farrakhan. “We should win, but Jesus was innocent—the malefactors and false witnesses condemned an innocent man.”

America's corrupt government

Any leader that stands and won't bend will be attacked, whether in the United States or abroad. Using NATO's assassination attempt to kill Libyan Leader Muammar Gadhafi, the Minister said this “rebel government” that does what it wants to do in the name of the American people. Wars have been fought for greedy bankers, oil and resources, not freedom nor democracy, he said.

“If you don't stand up, you deserve the hell that you are going to suffer because of your weakness, your cowardice and your love on an enemy that means no good for you!” Minister Farrakhan said.

Farrakhan. “God intends to kill the warmongers because there will never be peace on earth as long as warmongers are in power, and it is sad that our brother who got a Nobel Peace Prize is now sending drones into Pakistan and into Yemen and Somalia killing men, women and children, some of the guilty, but many of the innocent are dying from the bombs of these drones.”

Pres. Obama recently was in the United Kingdom, and recently met with Germany's Angela Merkel. This is part of the global setup, said Min. Farrakhan reminding the crowd of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad's guidance.

“Elijah Muhammad said in the end, England was going to trick America into war, France would be in it, but she would get out. But that war would bring all the nations into war. We're at the door now—The War of Armageddon and I'm telling you, no easy days are in front. If we can get through this, easy days will come behind it,” said Min. Farrakhan.

He ended his message with a word of warning and guidance.

“God is watching how we treat those who fight for us and if we do to her (Tillman) and to others what we did to Mr. Garvey, to Noble Drew Ali, to Malcolm X, to Muhammad Ali, to Elijah Muhammad, when the enemy turned down on them, we turned down too. Don't do that because God will chastise you today for weakness, cowardice and betraying those who fight for you.”

Howard, in all honesty, I think you have to offer Abe Foxman an early retirement or flat out fire him as national director of the ADL of B’nai B’rith. He has now spent a bundle of your funds buying full page ads in the New York Times and Washington Post warning Tim Russert, “Meet the Press,” and NBC television that if they even think of having Louis Farrakhan on the show again, they can expect to lose lots of advertising from friends of the ADL. You know as well as I do that the ads are meant to do exactly that, with a block-letter headline: “Hate Has Another Outlet. NBC’s Meet the Press.”

I mean, Howard, this is disgusting. Abe has become drunk with power, swinging his weight around knowing he can label anyone who challenges him an anti-Semitic bigot. And what sets it off this time: For the third time in three years, "Meet the Press" invited Minister Farrakhan on the program on the anniversary of the 1995 Million Man March. Foxman’s letter to Bob Wright, president of NBC, has the nerve to argue that: “While an interview with Minister Farrakhan at the time of the Million Man March could be deemed a legitimate and timely news item, featuring him as a moral authority on national issues on such a prestigious program is as ironic as it is outrageous.”

You know through mutual friends in the Jewish community, Howard, that I have spent the last two years trying to figure out the source of the tension between Farrakhan and Foxman. I’ve spent several dozen hours with Farrakhan, corresponded with Foxman and former NYC Mayor Ed Koch, and devoted another hundred hours reviewing the history of the feud. I’ve met dozens of men and women who belong to the Nation of Islam, attended a number of their conferences, and prayed with them in their Chicago mosque to the God of Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Mohammad. I've conclued beyond any reasonable doubt that there is not an ounce of anti-Semitism or bigotry in Farrakhan, that he is unusual only in that he publicly criticizes some Jewish political agendas and tactics when he believes they come at the expense of his people. My conclusion is that Foxman is in the wrong, not Farrakhan, that the ADL has spent the last 15 years using its political and financial clout to demonize Farrakhan and financially destroy the Nation of Islam. It has, for example, now succeeded in getting federal and state governments to terminate all contracts with the NOI to provide tenant security in public housing projects.

Tim Russert did not make Farrakhan a moral authority. The million black men who showed up at their own expense on the Washington Mall on October 16, 1995, proclaimed him a moral authority by their presence. They did so because of the Farrakhan message of individual responsibility to family, to community, and to God. Foxman knows Farrakhan has consistently renounced anti-semitism, bigotry and hatred in all its forms -- although reserving the right to condemn the actions of the ADL which has spent a fortune trying to destroy him and the financial underpinnings of his religious institution. I can post a defense of Farrakhan on the Internet, as I do with this missive to you, but there is no major news outlet that would entertain such a defense, wary of being condemned by Foxman as an agent of hate -- as he has done to NBC.

In the 40 years of his ministry, nobody has ever accused the Nation of Islam of a hate crime against Jews or Christians. No member of the Nation of Islam has ever been accused of the physical abuse of a Jew or a Jewish place of worship. Members of the NOI are forbidden to carry guns. Farrakhan has given dozens of speeches every year for the last 15 celebrating the contributions of the Jewish people, the law of Abraham and Moses, the wisdom of the Torah, and the insistence that his flock turn the other cheek when insulted by Foxman or his lieutenants.

The only reason I got involved in this controversy, Howard, is through my belief that the racial divide between blacks and whites can not be resolved until the division between blacks and Jews is first resolved. Abe Foxman’s way of viewing the black community as beholden to his organization and the consensus of Jewish leaders that he oversees is obsolete, which is why I think it is futile to try to work things out with him. At the time of the MMMarch, Farrakhan was asked several times if he would be willing to sit down and work out differences with Foxman. Each time, he said that if Yasir Arafat and Yitzhak Shamir could meet across rivers of blood, he and Foxman should be able to meet when there has been no blood at all pass between them. I got involved at this point by recommending to my friend Jack Kemp that he call Foxman and try to set up a meeting leading to reconciliation. Foxman said flat out that he was not interested.

On the first anniversary of the Million Man March in 1996, the site for the theme of reconciliation was the UN Plaza in New York City. Prior to the event, Minister Farrakhan called Foxman and the American Jewish Committee, offering to meet with them in advance to begin a process of reconciliation. Were you part of the decision back then to reject Minister Farrakhan’s invitation, with the tabloids actually running stories congratulating Foxman for not meeting with the NOI? I hope not. Foxman has persuaded himself that he is the high and mighty, justified in throwing megabuck thunderbolts at the likes of Russert and NBC’s Wright in order to get them to knuckle under. You should not kid yourself that he has right on his side.

Howard, I confess I was the guy who persuaded Minister Farrakhan to do "Meet the Press" last week, on the grounds that Russert and the staff of the program had come to appreciate his straightforwardness in answering their questions. Russert is a national asset in that he has the courage to deal with these topics on national television. Farrakhan has no special interest in getting on the show. He has no press secretary and no public-relations person. I urge him to go on network television so we will see what is on his mind, as he does represent black Americans more truthfully than any other black leader, political or spiritual. Read the script and you will find no softball questions from Russert.

The answers are what Foxman complains about. He does not want to hear that black Americans believe their institutions are heavily influenced by Jewish money, Jewish political power and Jewish intellectual agendas. Howard, ask for a private meeting, behind closed doors, with the members of the Congressional Black Caucus: Ask these questions, and you will get the same answers Tim Russert got from Farrakhan. The only difference is that Farrakhan is willing to say publicly what other black leaders only say privately. Which is why Farrakhan got so angry at Milton Coleman, a black reporter for The Washington Post, who reported Jesse Jackson's "Hymietown" remark at the end of a long day, over a dinner table in a small town hotel, where Coleman sat as Jesse Jackson's guest during the 1984 presidential campaign. It was the equivalent of snitching on a fellow inmate in the slavemaster's penitentiary.

Ask Rep. Charlie Rangel to level with you, Howard, and tell you what he thinks of Abe Foxman. Not that Foxman is a bad man, but that he is driven by his own demons into demonizing Farrakhan. Ask Bill Buckley at National Review what he thinks of Abe Foxman and he will tell you as he did recently in the magazine, that he would prefer to hear from Abe only once every two or three years. I've never met the man, but that is not for lack of trying. I've written him several times, respectfully I might add, offering to meet to discuss these matters. He is simply not interested. He is Ariel Sharon squared. He won't shake Farrakhan's hand nor will he shake the hand of a lifelong supporter of Jewish interests and causes and admirer of the Jewish people and their culture and contributions as am I.

You co-signed the full page ads, Howard, but knowing you, I suspect you know much less about all this than you think you do. The tag line on the ad, for example, read: "Worse yet, Tim Russert did not challenge Farrakhan and no one countered his views. For the life of us, we can't figure it out. Is there no moral responsibility at NBC News anymore?"

Now think about it, Howard. If Tim were to call you tomorrow and say he is going to devote an entire hour of "Meet the Press" to a face-off between Farrakhan and the ADL, would you like to represent the ADL, or would you send Abe? You know that Abe would decline to go on the show at all, but would be happy to go on by himself to tear into Minister Farrakhan. Look over the script. Farrakhan did not go on the show to talk about his relationship with the Jewish political community. It was Russert who prodded him into it, and I'm glad he did. The original purpose of the interview came both because of the Farrakhan speech at Howard University the previous Friday — on the third anniversary of the Million Man March — and because Farrakhan had written a letter to the President offering him spiritual comfort and advice on the Lewinsky matter. This was in much the same way that the Rev. Jesse Jackson and the Rev. Billy Graham have counseled the President.

The bottom line, Howard, is that Abe Foxman has pushed this button to the limit, now dragging you into a confrontation with the major news media on who is allowed to come on their television shows and who cannot. Foxman has gone past the point of diminishing returns with these kinds of threats and appeals. Other black leaders now are being condemned if they speak their minds as honestly as Farrakhan has his. Martin Luther King III has come out of the closet for Farrakhan. There's little chance you will be able to get Foxman to budge on this, but maybe that means you should do it yourself. Minister Farrakhan would be happy to sit down, man to man, with the national chairman of the ADL, Howard Berkowitz, if not its national director. If Netanyahu and Arafat can sit down together across rivers of blood that have flowed between them, why not Farrakhan, a guy from Chicago, and Berkowitz, a guy from New York? Answer me that, Howard. Why not?

Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan continued his defense of embattled Libyan strongman Moammar Gaddafi during a press conference in Chicago Thursday, and slammed the United States' decision to get involved in the conflict.

The 78-year-old leader of the Chicago-based organization spoke at Mosque Maryam, the Nation of Islam headquarters, according to the Chicago Tribune.

"It is a terrible thing for me to hear my brother called all these ugly and filthy names when I can't recognize him as that," Farrakhan said of Gaddafi, according to the Tribune. "Even though the current tide is moving against him ... how can I refuse to raise my voice in his defense? Why would I back down from those who have given so much."

Farrakhan has publicly defended Gaddafi a number of times since the Libyan uprising began. He reportedly visited the Libyan leader in the 1980s, and told attendees of a Nation of Islam convention in February that the United States should stay out of Libya's affairs.

He also said that if Gaddafi is persecuted for crimes against humanity, the same should apply to former President George W. Bush for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

"Name one ruler that has the 100 love of his people," Farrakhan said in February. "You can't find one."

In Mississippi on Friday, Farrakhan said the U.S. lacks the moral authority to intervene in the Libyan conflict, citing the deaths of black people at the hands of law enforcement during the Rodney King protests in 1991 and the unhealthy food that the federal government allows into the marketplace.

Advertisement"The American people are dying, and the Food and Drug Administration is complicit," he said. "Greed is more important than the lives of the American people."

Gaddafi reportedly addressed Nation of Islam members via satellite in 1997. The Tribune reports:

During that speech, Gadhafi panned America for taxing poor people, who do not benefit from exploratory trips to Mars and support of "a Hebrew state."
"Consequently," he said, "the voice of Louis Farrakhan will be heard among the simple people louder than the president of the United States," at the time President Bill Clinton.


On Friday, Farrakhan told supporters that President Obama had backed down from pushing a Palestinian-Israeli peace accord and banning settlement-building in the West Bank, calling him "the first Jewish president." Obama is a Christian.

"He was selected before he was elected," Farrakhan said. "And the people that selected him were rich, powerful members of the Jewish community."

Jewish leaders in Mississippi last week criticized Farrakhan for distorting historical fact in order to perpetuate harmful stereotypes. The Anti-Defamation League said recently that Farrakhan's anti-Semitism is "obsessive, diabolical and unrestrained."

Farrakhan has over the years denied claims of anti-Semitism, arguing his remarks are often taken out of context and that criticism of Jews in any light automatically earns the "anti-Semite" label. The Nation of Islam has espoused black nationalism and self-reliance since it was founded in the 1930s, though in recent years it has included other groups, including Latinos and immigrants.


On Thursday, the Nation of Islam leader, Farrakhan, summoned the press to Mosque Maryam, the international headquarters of the Nation of Islam on Chicago's South Side, to "deliver a word of guidance and warning during this time of upheaval and trouble." The press conference is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.

Farrakhan and Gadhafi have been friends for many years. During an interview earlier this month with radio host Cliff Kelley, Farrakhan chided President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for intruding on another nation's civil conflict. But he also offered a few words of advice to America's decision makers.


"Don't let these wicked demons move you in a direction that will absolutely ruin your future with your people in Africa and throughout the world," he said. "They don't like the way you handled (former Egyptian President Hosni) Mubarak! They don't like the way you're handling the situation in the Arab world! So I would advise you to be careful-and move with wisdom and skill."

"Why don't you organize a group of respected Americans, and ask for a meeting with Gadhafi?" Farrakhan suggested. "You can't order him to step down, and get out. Who the hell do you think you are, that you can talk to a man that built a country over 42 years, and ask him step down and get out? Can anybody ask you? ... There's a lot, now, going to ask you to step out of the White House, because they don't want a black face in the White House."

Farrakhan got into hot water in 1996 when he launched a "friendship tour" of Muslim nations in the Middle East and Africa. He was criticized for meeting with Gadhafi in Tripoli, where Farrakhan alleged U.S. injustices against Muslim nations.

The following year, Gadhafi, addressed Nation of Islam membesr via satellite, lauding Farrakhan for being a "courageous freedom fighter" who not only galvanized blacks at the Million Man March in Washington, D.C., in 1995, but also sparked unity rallies in Islamic communities around the world.

During that speech, Gadhafi panned America for taxing poor people, who do not benefit from exploratory trips to Mars and support of "a Hebrew state."

"Consequently," he said, "the voice of Louis Farrakhan will be heard among the simple people louder than the president of the United States," at the time President Bill Clinton.

In the meantime, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. has posted several articles critical of the attacks in Libya on his Facebook fan page.

The former pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ told a New York Times reporter in 2007 that he wasn't surprised Obama had begun to distance himself since questions were bound to come up on the campaign trail about his 1984 trip to Libya with Farrakhan.

"When his enemies find out that in 1984 I went to Tripoli with Farrakhan, a lot of his Jewish support will dry up quicker than a snowball in hell,” Wright said then, adding that the trip did not mean he agreed with Farrakhan or Gadhafi's views.

Farrakhan warns, advises Obama on Libya policy, proper guidance for America


CHICAGO (FinalCall.com) - In his first interview since the successful Nation of Islam Saviours' Day 2011 convention, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan sat down in the studio with popular radio host and long-time friend Cliff Kelley on WVON-AM 1690 for a two and a half hour conversation.

A critically important portion of the discussion centered on the unrest in the North African country of Libya which the Minister spoke about for the very first time during his recent keynote address. He provided even more layered contextual understanding when questioned by Mr. Kelley March 10. Then the subject of Libya was raised. When the western media began reporting on Libya, Febbruary 15, it seemed as if it was a foregone conclusion that Col. Muammar Gadhafi would be ousted in the country he has led for over 42 years. Now, nearly a month later, he remains in power.

On March 12, the Arab League agreed on asking the United Nations to impose a no-fly zone over Libya, days earlier, the African Union voted against it.

Al-Arabiya reported March 14 U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton arrived in Paris to sit down with Foreign Ministers from Russian, Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan. A no-fly zone plan is reportedly being presented to NATO on March 15, according to Secretary Clinton.

It is no secret that the Nation of Islam and Minister Farrakhan have enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship with the Libyan leader for decades. The United States has long opposed Col. Gadhafi and attempted to force him out of office even bombing his country during the Reagan administration, Minister Farrakhan noted.

The Minister blasted President Obama and Secretary Clinton for their arrogance in meddling in another sovereign nation's affairs and publicly recommending regime change.

Minister Farrakhan instructed Americans to look beneath the surface to see who stands to benefit from the unrest, and warned President Obama to be careful of the words coming from advisors lobbying him to move in with military forces to depose Col. Gadhafi.

"Well, today our dear brother (Obama) has to be very, very careful in this decision that he and his Secretary of State, and [French President Nicolas] Sarkozy and [British] Prime Minister [David] Cameron and others are planning. They would love to go into Libya and kill Brother Gadhafi, and kill his children as they did with Saddam Hussein and his sons, Qusay and Uday. You must remember, dear people of America, that whenever government wants you to think and act in a certain way that would bring justification to an action that they are already planning to make, they must make the person that they hate a 'boogey man,' " he said. Col. Gadhafi, who led a bloodless coup against a U.S. ally over 40 years ago, has seen constant negative publicity and was once called the "Mad Dog of the Middle East" by American leaders and analysts.

People unhappy with government are not solely in Libya, he pointed out. Many are unhappy with Mr. Obama, he said.

The U.S. government has a long history of deposing leaders of other nations in order to get natural resources, more specifically-oil, he continued, saying the imperialistic forces are not interested in saving those being killed, it is just a "noble motive to hide your (the U.S. government's) wicked agenda!"

"When George W. Bush was president, he said they wanted regime change in Iran, in (North) Korea regime change-how do you get regime change America? How do you do that? Congress, the Congress of the United States, voted to spend $150 million to replace the government in Iran that America doesn't like, so they send their agents in to work among the dissatisfied. So when they had this election, and the people in Iran rose up, they have legitimate grievances, all right-but stimulated from the outside," Minister Farrakhan continued. "Well, what about Libya? How much money is being spent to arm the so-called rebels? They're dissatisfied! Well, what is their dissatisfaction about? Do they (Libyans) have jobs? Yes. Do they have food? Yes. Has Gadhafi used the oil money to build Libya? Yes. Did Gadhafi use oil money and discover water under the Sahara Desert, and brought that water to the surface; and brought water from Benghazi all the way to the border almost of Tunisia? Did he impose farming in the desert so that they could feed their own people? Yes. Are there billions of dollars that he's spending building homes, building apartments for his people? Yes. So something is under this!" said Minister Farrakhan.

"Is it that you're (U.S. officials) so concerned over the blood that is being shed in Libya, when you looked the other way when the Israeli Defense Force was bombing the innocent people of Gaza, unarmed men, women and children? ... You looked the other way when the Israeli Defense Force went into Lebanon thinking that they were going to have an easy victory, then you had to come out with your tail between your legs?"

Minister Farrakhan said Col. Gadhafi has been investing money in Africa, enjoys international friendship, and should not be killed simply because he is not America's friend.

"Now, I want to warn you, in the Name of Allah, that this is more complex than what you think! Go into Libya if you want to. The Libyans do not want foreign occupation on their land. And when you make that kind of move, if you're not careful, you'll unite the Libyan people against you!"

Inside America members of the Branch Davidian religious sect were killed in 1993 in Waco, Texas, by federal law enforcement, while men, women and children of the MOVE organization were killed when police bombed their home during a 1985 standoff in Philadelphia, he said. Current American outrage is nothing but hypocrisy, the Minister said.

To President Obama, Minister Farrakhan delivered a pointed warning: "Don't let these wicked demons move you in a direction that will absolutely ruin your future with your people in Africa and throughout the world. And then, Minister Farrakhan offered President Obama some divine advice.

Well, well there's a lot, now, [that are] going to ask you to step out of the White House, because they don't want a Black face in the White House," said Minister Farrakhan.

"Be careful, brother, how you handle this situation because it is coming to America! It has already started. Look in Wisconsin! Look in Ohio! Look at what's going on in your country! And remember your words because the American people are rising against their own government: It's not Muslims; it's not Black people! It's White militias that are angry with their government, and they are well armed. Are you going to tell them-'Put your arms down, and let's talk it over peacefully?' I hope so. But if not, America will be bathed in blood, not because Farrakhan said so, but because the dissatisfaction in America has reached the boiling point. Be careful how you manipulate the dissatisfaction in Libya and other parts of the Muslim world," he warned.

PITTSBURGH (FinalCall.com) - The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan's clarion call for Black empowerment and self-determination rang out across America during a nationally broadcast town hall meeting at the August Wilson Center for African American Culture here March 11.

Despite the attempts of critics seeking to influence and divide Pittsburgh's Black community, Minister Farrakhan joined popular and principled syndicated talk show host Bev Smith for an important 3-hour conversation with concerned residents to discuss “The Disappearing Black Community and How We Can Get It Back.”

“Up you mighty people! Up you mighty people! Up you mighty people!” said Ms. Smith, reminding those listening that Blacks are the descendents of those who survived slavery and built this country. “They cannot keep us down! The only thing keeping us down is us—and I've paid too much of a price for you to be here tonight,” she told the standing room only crowd prior to going live on air. The American Urban Radio Network hostess' meeting was broadcast over WGBN-AM radio and carried live over the Internet at http://www.wgbn.net/.

During the days prior to the event, Ms. Smith received calls from Jewish and Christian leaders expressing their displeasure at her decision to invite Min. Farrakhan to participate in the event. Several writings appeared in the Pittsburgh Jewish Chronicle repeating the thoroughly discredited, yet oft-repeated claims of Minister Farrakhan's “anti-Semitism.”

Though saddened by the unnecessary controversy fomented by those determined to make mischief, Minister Farrakhan was unapologetic in his delivery of a clear message as a warner from God.

“I love the truth and I love you and I refuse to compromise my principles to get along,” said Min. Farrakhan. “My love of God makes me put my trust completely in Him.”

The outside pressure proved to be too much for Melanie Campbell, president and CEO of the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation. She backed out just days before the town hall meeting fearing the loss of future funding, according to Ms. Smith.

Undeterred, Minister Farrakhan was joined by Rep. James Clyburn, (D-S.C.) and longtime civil rights activist and radio host Dorothy Tillman, who gladly paid her own way and stepped in to fill the slot vacated by Ms. Campbell.

During his message of guidance, which set the tone for the event, Minister Farrakhan touched on issues plaguing Black communities: joblessness, poor education, terrible health, disunity, and moral depravity. All of these maladies contribute to a community that in medical terms would be described as having “flat-lined.”

“Our problem is our fear—not White people—but our fear of them which makes us act in a manner that is less dignified and less character building and instead of passing on a future to our children oft-times we pass on the legacy of our cowardice and we refuse to confront evil wherever evil is,” said Min. Farrakhan.

Regarding the scorn and abuse he has received as an outspoken and public Black leader over the years, Min. Farrakhan said it is the price that must be paid for representing truth.



Crowd responds to Min. Farrakhan’s words.
“No man wants to be rejected. No man wants to be despised. No man or woman wants to be evil spoken of. No man or woman wants to be viciously reviled. But Jesus said, ‘blessed are ye, when men shall revile you.' I am a reviled person. I am persecuted—not because I killed somebody, not because I robbed somebody, not because I raped somebody, because I dare to stand like a man and tell the truth!” he said.

The Minister also spoke at length regarding a critical event in the history of Black people in America, “The Compromise of 1877.” Despite its major impact on conditions Blacks faced then and still face today, many know nothing about it. Much of this information is contained in “The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews” Volume Two,” the Minister said.

In the days leading up to the event, Ms. Smith received death threats at her home, and there was even a bomb threat at the August Wilson Center just hours before the event.

Yet she never considered calling it off or changing her plans for the event.

Furthermore, Blacks never insert themselves into the affairs of other ethnic groups to tell others what to discuss and with whom their issues should be discussed, she noted.

“We have endured White-only signs from the time we came here and when we finally sit down and say it's time for us to talk about us, there is a problem! We are not going to talk about their problem tonight, that is their problem not ours,” said Ms. Smith. “I do not have to prove that am not anti-Semitic, but what I do have to prove is that I am for my people all of the time no matter what time, no matter what circumstances and I will give my life so that my people will be free! I want freedom!”

In a typical present day example of the historically arrogant and paternalistic manner with which members of the Jewish community have treated Black leaders and organizations, Rabbi Abraham Cooper, associate dean for the Los Angeles-based Simon Wiesenthal Center, wrote an opinion piece appearing in the March 11 edition of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette saying Min. Farrakhan's inclusion in the forum “bestows on him unwarranted credibility.” Additionally, Rabbi Cooper—in what some Pittsburgh residents considered a veiled threat—said Rep. Clyburn, a publicly elected official and highly ranked member of the Democratic Party, should follow Ms. Campbell's lead and withdraw from the event.

Pittsburgh residents clearly ignored the critics, and Rep. Clyburn told The Final Call, he was “not bothered in the least bit” by those criticizing him for appearing at the event. The venue was completely full with an overflow room set up to allow others to hear the discussion.

Nation of Islam representatives from the East Coast traveled to Pittsburgh to witness the event, and dozens of members of the Fruit of Islam, Muslim men, and Muslim women were on hand to bolster the center's security for the event. Though there were rumors of possible protests, none materialized.

“I want to thank Min. Farrakhan for offering up a number of precepts that we ought to adhere to,” said Rep. Clyburn, after the Minister Farrakhan made remarks about the critical need for Blacks to unite, pool their resources and build for a future.

The best lessons are taught by example, and what needs to happen is that once individuals are inspired, they should move forward in making a vision a reality, said Rep. Clyburn.

Rep. Clyburn also talked about the respect for women, saying no one should call a woman a name they wouldn't want their mother or daughter called.

Coming from a strong line of Black women who faced down racists of the Ku Klux Klan in the south, Ms. Tillman paid her own way and gladly stepped in after the other panelist backed out.

Holding up a book titled “Advice Among Masters: The Ideal in Slave Management in the Old South” by James O. Breeden, Ms. Tillman said today, leaders are needed who are not afraid to publicly say they are interested in building the Black community.

Giving historical examples of Black Wall Street in Tulsa, Okla., and Rosewood, Fla., where Whites destroyed vibrant Black communities, she said Whites become scared when it appears that Blacks are building economic power.

“There's always been a move to hold us down,” said Ms. Tillman who was amongst the Black women who Min. Farrakhan said “lambasted” the Rev. Jesse Jackson into supporting the 1995 Million Man March. Min. Farrakhan also paid tribute to the strength of the late Dr. Dorothy Height, of the National Council of Negro Women, who despite critics strongly supported the Million Man March.

All of these things are part of the experiences that make up the cultural fabric of the Black community, said Min. Farrakhan.

Jewish critics and opposition

Since nothing happens except by the active or permissive will of God, Min. Farrakhan pointed out that suffering is a part of life. Since God is the ultimate cause of all effect, as the Jewish people look to the holocaust to guide and motivate them, they should not focus on Hitler so much, but instead, ask God why he permitted the tragedy. Likewise, Black people should look at the trans-Atlantic slave trade, study it carefully, and ask God in the proper spirit why he permitted it, said Min. Farrakhan.

His words were a lead into his discussion of a controversy with a small yet influential group within the American Jewish community.

Regarding Jewish critics who have denounced him over the years, as well as the book “The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews,” the Minister said, “Don't judge me by what they write.”

“They have not produced one that has defeated me and the more I defeated them and stood up and would not bow down, Black people saw me as a champion and a fighter,” Min. Farrakhan noted. “Now, this book has them so upset that they would call this a pack of lies and hateful anti-Semitic stuff because now, truth is getting out and I might be a soloist today, but an ensemble is brewing and before you know it, there will be an international choir singing against you.”

Pressure put on August Wilson Center

In 2010, the August Wilson Center for African American Culture formed a partnership with American Urban Radio Networks and their nationally syndicated program, The Bev Smith Show, to host four town hall meetings.

The theme of the meetings is “The Disappearing Black Community and How We Can Get it Back.”

The first was held in November 2010, and March 11 was the second gathering.

Ms. Smith told The Final Call the next scheduled town hall meeting will deal with the Black church and she plans to invite Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

André Kimo Stone Guess, the center's president and CEO, stood firmly on the decision to honor the agreement with American Urban Radio Networks and The Bev Smith Show amid pressure from local and national Jewish leaders.

“An open and honest dialogue on this subject is well within the Center's mission and strategic thrust to work concentrically (from local to regional to national and international) and collaboratively to preserve, present, interpret celebrate and shape the art, culture and history of African Americans,” said Mr. Guess in a statement. “American Urban Radio Networks and The Bev Smith Show have complete editorial control over the program and its content. As such, they choose and invite the guests and panelists.”

Despite wishing there was more time, Ms. Smith told The Final Call she had no complaints. She expressed thanks to God that people were able to hear from a man of strength in Minister Farrakhan. She said the criticism made her angry, but she never considered backing down.

“It only made me angry, because I am really tired of the slave mentality. I'm tired of the slave master still thinking he has a right to tell the slaves who, what, when, where, and why, and I will never give up!”

Ms. Smith said she invited Minister Farrakhan and Rep. Clyburn because “the traditional voices are co-opted” and that the threats did not rattle her. Faith in God and a desire to represent the truth keeps her protected, said Ms. Smith.

“Honey, I've been shot at before. I've marched against the Ku Klux Klan before, and my daughter's school was threatened and I had to have the FBI for six weeks put the key in my door here in Pittsburgh because I went into the prisons and talked about how White prison guards were treating Black inmates. I had my car stolen, I was shot at, and the hole is still in the window at the old radio studio—but do you see me?”

During his closing comments, Minister Farrakhan made sure that it was clear that the Nation of Islam had Ms. Smith's back and that he will continue to speak with the strength of one with divine backing of God. He also demanded that the Black residents of Pittsburgh and across the country ensure that strength she has displayed during this ordeal is reciprocated.

“Bev Smith is such a strong sister, and she needs your support right here in Pittsburgh, so we have to make sure that no harm or hurt comes to her or to the radio station for her strength. And we have to pledge when you see strength like this, always support her and let the opposition know that no harm is coming to our sister in this city or any other city,” said Min. Farrakhan. “And don't fear for me because I speak like this. Don't be afraid. I am telling you from my mouth—they killed their last prophet when they killed Jesus. I'm telling you my life is not going to be taken and if you doubt then all of you that have power, come and take it from me and I guarantee you, you will be the one losing yours!”


Reactions to town hall meeting

Pittsburgh resident Monica Harvey, who also lived for a time in Washington, D.C., came to the town hall because she admires the work of Bev Smith and is concerned about issues facing the Black community. Minister Farrakhan's words about the breakdown of the Black family touched her deeply.

“I know so many African-American women who are gainfully employed and they are taking care of the household, and for reasons that may or may not be his fault, the man is not,” said Ms. Harvey. “I wanted to hear a good discussion about the Black community, and I am not disappointed.”

“Minister Farrakhan has launched a new era in our struggle for freedom, justice and equality. The clarity with which our history has finally been presented is palpable. It has created energy in the people that I have never witnessed before,” said Atty. Ava Muhammad, author and top aide to Minister Farrakhan, referring to “The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews,” Volume Two, which was referred to by Min. Farrakhan several times during the event.

“There are two major things about the Jesus of the Bible that tell us that in Minister Farrakhan we have the Jesus of today: Number one, the controversy with the Jews and number two, the women. Here again it was a woman, just like during the Million Man March, it was Dorothy Height with the Million Man March and tonight, it was Bev Smith. The argument that Bev Smith presented to Jewish leadership that opposed Minister Farrakhan's coming really should be studied by Black leaders, because the issue is not what the Minister has said, the issue is that we have a right to conduct our own affairs without interference,” Atty. Ava Muhammad added.

Student Minister Rodney Muhammad, the Delaware Valley regional representative of the Nation of Islam based in Philadelphia, was also on hand for the event. It is clear that Minister Farrakhan is placing a special emphasis on the relationship between the Black and Jewish community, which is discussed in the book, he said.

“I just go back to something he said, ‘unless you can expose a plant by its root, you can't destroy it.' We have no other choice but to expose this horrible secret. Without its exposure Black people will never be free in this country,” said student Minister Rodney Muhammad.

“It has been an amazing day and this is exactly what our community needs, right guidance coming from the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and the strong words of Ms. Tillman,” said Student Minister Jasiri X, who leads Pittsburgh's Muhammad Mosque No. 22. “I am totally blown away and thankful that Bev Smith stood strong, and invited God's man in our midst to give us what will heal our ills—the truth.”

ROSEMONT, Ill. (FinalCall.com ) - The tumult the world is witnessing in Tunisia, in Egypt, in Libya, in Bahrain is headed to America, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan warned thousands during his annual Saviours' Day address at the Allstate Arena here.
“You'd better prepare because it will be coming to your door, America,” Minister Farrakhan told a crowd of over 16,000 with thousands more watching globally via live Internet webcast.

During an over four-hour lecture in which Minister Farrakhan looked and sounded strong throughout, he informed the audience that this is a time of war—as it says in the scriptures—and the time of the deliverance of God's people is at hand.

He also advised President Obama should remember his words to other nations concerning freedom of assembly and the freedom to protest. These disturbing events now seen on foreign shores are a sign that the Great Mahdi—God Himself, the Saviour—is in the world today and all tyrants will be set down, the Muslim leader warned.

“God is indeed present and he has made His choice of the people for His glory,” said Min. Farrakhan. God has chosen the Black people of America for himself and the Nation of Islam is a vehicle established to fulfill that purpose, he said. “And the Scripture says, ‘even the Gentiles will come to the brightness of thy rising.' Maybe you don't know it but there are many Whites who are now writing to the Nation of Islam and telling us that they believe in the teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad and this is a sign of what many of the Gentiles have always known, but they have not been strong enough to say it. But they see and hear us saying things that are in their hearts and they see us rising and they are now saying boldly that they will help us,” he said.

God has chosen Blacks for a specific duty and function, the Minister said.

“We are that people—then God will have to free us from the people to whom we are bound and since they have already let us go—but they do not want to say it openly—we want to force them to say ‘yes, we let you go,'” said Min. Farrakhan. “But then, you have to provide us with a good send off, and if you don't provide us with what is required to let us go, then God will fight you, and now is fighting for our deliverance.”

Each year, the Nation of Islam holds a celebration marking the birth of its founder Master W. Fard Muhammad. This year's convention was filled with informative workshops and demonstrations attended by thousands from all over the world.

“This man, Master Fard Muhammad, Elijah Muhammad said of him, he came to us from the holy city of Mecca. He was born February 26, 1877. He knew his future when he was six years old. He saw himself pushing the DuPonts, the Rockefellers, the House of Rothschild—this Synagogue of Satan—into a lake of fire when he matured. He was made from Black and White so that He could slip in among us undetected, as the Bible says, ‘He would come as a thief in the night.' ”

During this year's Saviours' Day convention, a plenary session was held dealing with what are commonly referred to as Unidentified Flying Objects. Master Fard Muhammad taught the Hon. Elijah Muhammad of a “dreadful looking plane in the sky” referred to in Nation of Islam teaching as the Mother Plane, “a half-mile by a half-mile humanly built planet.”

The Minister drew parallels between the dual function of the Saviour, and the two functions of the Mother Plane.

“It was he who pointed out to us a dreadful looking plane in the sky—a half-mile by a half-mile—a plane that had two natures and two functions—like himself. He is a saviour but he also is a destroyer and that Wheel that is above our heads has those same two functions—one to heal, one to save, one to replenish, one to renew the earth and the people on it, but one that is to destroy the enemy of peace so that those who live on our planet after such a destruction will never again have to worry about a mischief maker or a peace breaker breaking the peace of the members of the human family.”

“Think about a God so angry at the condition of his people, and the misuse of the power of the oppressor against his people, that his own fury upheld him,” said Minister Farrakhan.

“The Bible teaches, ‘He had for a long time held His peace, but now He would cry out like a woman in travail.' Isaiah saw Him treading the wine press alone. His garments stained with the blood of His and our enemies,” he continued.

After a long pause and a moment of reflection, Minister Farrakhan said, “That's the One I represent today,” and the crowd exploded in applause.

The title of his message was: “God Will Send Saviours.” The Great Mahdi—The Saviour—would send and has sent Elijah Muhammad, and his representative to deliver Black people in America from the clutches of their open enemies.

The Saviour wants to free Blacks from White control and domination, in a land of their own, said Min. Farrakhan.

God's judgment and divine upheaval
The scholarly, passionate, address was filled with quotations from the Bible, the Holy Qur'an, and from American historical documents, writings and speeches of this country's Founding Fathers, as well as timely references to contemporary events: precisely the kind of analysis people around the world look to the Minister to receive, because of his sterling reputation for integrity, and insight into complex world problems.



He also referred to the words of the Hon. Elijah Muhammad regarding the four great judgments of America—rain, hail, snow and earthquakes.

America has been hit with one weather battering after another, causing strain on many major cities during already financially tenuous times for most.

Major earthquakes have been experienced globally.

The Minister reminded the audience about the words of the Holy Qur'an, the Muslim book of scripture, in which it says there would be “calamity after calamity until the enemy is laid low.”

He then discussed events within the political landscape of the United States and world affairs

“I don't know what's going on in Libya,” said Min. Farrakhan. “But Muammar Gadhafi has always been my friend. People tell me I should distance myself from him, but I'm not that kind of weak-kneed person,” he said.

Minister Farrakhan noted that every nation on earth has citizens that do not agree with their governments. The governments of this world, including the Middle East, arein upheaval as a divine change takes place, the Minister explained.

In Libya's case, however, we cannot be sure of exactly what is happening and why, he continued. But, Min. Farrakhan said, the unrest in the country has erupted after Libya sought closer relations with America.

Min. Farrakhan had warned Col. Gadhafi about rapprochement with America, saying the United States would not cease in attempts to overthrow the longtime revolutionary leader.

Similar to Iraq, violence was come with the involvement of America and Western forces in the name of peacemaking, the Minister said.

President Obama should also be careful about warning Libya about not harming peaceful protestors as upheaval and angry protests are headed for America, Min. Farrakhan warned.

He also warned against a double standard in the name of justice.

“I listened to our president the other night. I watched the way he talked about his friend (deposed Egyptian president Hosni) Mubarak. Mubarak's been there for 30 years—the friend of every American president—so whatever he was not doing for his people, America sure knew it!

“When did we (the United States) find out that we should be ‘for the people?' After the people rose up, America tried to get in behind the cart,” observed Min. Farrakhan.

America lied about going into Iraq in search of weapons of mass destruction, thousands of innocents were killed, and there have not been calls from the U.S. for trying former President Bush and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld for war crimes, said the Minister.

“They need to put America out of Iraq, out of Afghanistan because the trouble didn't begin until the trouble maker came in. … When they set up the embassy, practically all the members of the embassy were CIA. They aren't for peace! They're there to destabilize! The people are still gathering in Tahrir Square (in Egypt)—they're not satisfied. Well that fell off the radar,” he said.

The Great Compromise of 1877
The Minister also discussed critical events in the history of Black people in America—the trans-Atlantic Slave Trade, The Compromise of 1877. Despite the fact that it had major implication for the conditions Blacks are in today, many know nothing about it, however, much of this information is contained in “The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews” Volume Two.

The Minister explained that in 1865, the 13th Amendment legally abolished slavery, however, the presidential election of November, 1876 ended in a deadlock between the Republican Rutherford B. Hayes, who represented the Northern sentiments, and Democrat Samuel Tilden who represented the former slaveholders of the South. The two sides fought over the result for weeks, and there were even threats of another civil war.

The American Bankers Association met on January 26, and then again on Feb 7, to strategize in the midst of the controversy. The Emancipation of the Black man had undermined the very source of their fortunes—Black slave labor.

It was thought that this political standoff could provide the opportunity to radically change the course of the nation—in their direction. If Tilden won, they thought, he would be facing a hostile Republican congress. They believed that their plans would be received better under a Hayes administration. Southern politicians, whose votes would be needed for these major projects, could be convinced to go along with the promise of an enormous capital investment and a return to the old racial order.

After that, a group of politicians from both parties secretly convened in Washington, D.C. to attempt to resolve the conflict and save the union from political disaster and possibly a second civil war. After days of negotiations they finally agreed that if Rutherford B. Hayes were awarded the presidency, he would remove the federal troops in the South who were protecting the Black ex-slaves, and the former Southern slaveholding class would be returned to power where they could establish new forms of slavery free from federal control.

The agreement in effect put the bankers and industrialists in control of the Southern economy, and it forced Blacks back into the cotton fields to finance it all. After twelve years of “emancipation” Blacks would be returned to virtual slavery, denied civil rights, and assigned to permanent political, social, and economic inferiority. Jim Crow laws took immediate effect and Ku Klux Klan terrorism exploded. Lynchings, rapes, and mass murders against America's Black so-called citizens escalated. Black property was stolen, schools were destroyed, voting rights abolished. Whites ran Blacks out of the skilled trades and industry, effectively locking them into plantation labor and domestic service.

That decision would in effect nullify the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments to the Constitution, and it all started when the Jewish congressman from Louisiana, William M. Levy representing Jewish railroad and cotton investors like the Lehmans, Seligmans, Belmonts, and Kempners, gave an impassioned speech on the floor of the U.S. Congress convincing those lawmakers that this wicked agreement, that scholars call “the Great Betrayal of the Negro people,” was indeed the best policy for the United States of America.

“The most profound part of this, however, is that on the same day that White America decided on the complete destruction of the Black people, Allah decided that The Saviour to the Black man would be born. Both events—the two most significant in the history of Black America happened on February 26, 1877!”

“We have given America the best we have in Barack Obama,” the Nation of Islam leader said of the U.S. president who is often vilified by Republican politicians and conservative commentators. “With the right minds he could probably help America, but he was selected for a purpose. He is the head of a corporation that I don't think he has any stock in.”

Minister Farrakhan then proposed a unique plan. After saying that he was proud of President Obama and his symbolic and inspirational importance to Black youth, he also said Mr. Obama was “a Black man in charge of White affairs,” and “a good man under control of bad people.”

He said it would be better for Mr. Obama, as eloquent and loved among Black people as he is, to lead a separate Black nation, on what is now U.S. territory or elsewhere.

But Min. Farrakhan also had a warning for President Obama, to not let himself be pushed into a war with Iran—a war that only serves the interests of Israel, not the United States—and to not let himself be pushed into intervening militarily in Libya.

In 1942 The Honorable Elijah Muhammad was sent to prison for five years when President Roosevelt signed an executive order taking him off the street because he was preaching to Black people that they had no interest in fighting in World War II, a war which only benefited White Americans and Europeans. Today, if the U.S. launches a war against Iran, another Islamic country—a war which serves only the interests of the Zionists in Israel—then Min. Farrakhan has promised he will speak out against it, increasing the danger that this President might issue an executive order to have the Muslim leader arrested on sedition charges.

Zionists dominate the government and the banking system in this country, Min. Farrakhan argued, and just as when the Roman ruler Pontius Pilate did the bidding of the Jews in arresting and crucifying Jesus, U.S. society responds to crush anyone whenever there is a perception that Zionist interests are threatened in the world today.

“What man do you see in America who is standing up to the Jews?” the Nation of Islam leader asked. “Farrakhan!” the crowd roared.

His pointed criticism of the Black-Jewish relationship is not an anti-Semitic pogrom or attack because of any “hatred” Min. Farrakhan harbors against Jewish people, he pointed out.

“I'm not a hater of the Jewish people, but I know the truth,” said Min. Farrakhan. “Do you think I would waste my time if it was not important that you know Satan? My job is to pull the cover off of Satan so that he will never deceive you—the people of the earth again!”

Saviours' Wanted
Minister Farrakhan discussed the mind and spirit needed to be a servant and saviour of the people swimming in sin, however, Black people need to be saved from the enemy and themselves.

Addressing the interaction between the Nation of Islam and the Church of Scientology, Minister Farrakhan said he found something in the study of L. Ron Hubbard's technology of auditing that he believed could be of use to the Nation of Islam to better prepare them to become saviours of their people. He also spoke of his respect for Mr. Hubbard, and his importance to Whites.

“L. Ron Hubbard is so exceedingly valuable that every Caucasian person on this earth—all Whites—should flock to L. Ron Hubbard,” said Min. Farrakhan. The very reason why L. Ron Hubbard might be so hated is because he sought to end this world and civilize Whites by taking away their reactive minds, he added.

“Mr. Hubbard recognized that his people had to be civilized, he never wanted to continue this world nor did he try to save this world. He was trying to prepare a people to build a brand new world and a brand new civilization,” said Min. Farrakhan.

Regarding Min. Farrakhan's words regarding the Church of Scientology, Mother Tynnetta Muhammad, wife of the Hon. Elijah Muhammad, called their outreach to the Nation of Islam “significant.”

“They were in training for all these years under Dianetics or under the Scientology Church to turn out to be little saviours themselves and trying to unravel the mystery of how we are in this condition because we were reared by our former slave masters that have as the Minister put it—a psychopathic mind—that is the White man's mind and that is what we have been dealing with for the last 6,000 years,” said Mother Tynnetta.

Reactions to the message
Mother Tynnetta Muhammad said Min. Farrakhan took the time that he needed to get his entire message over to the listeners and viewers.

“His address was an explosion—it can be compared to Problem No. 6 that speaks of the atom being exploded into 10 million parts and that message that he sounded was the beginning of the outreach to global humanity and the 10 million parts represents 10 million new converts that will come into the doors of the Nation of Islam because it is now a global mission,” said Mother Tynnetta Muhammad.

“It is a matter of the most sensitive material that he was dealing with but he was not playing with words and he gave a clear understanding so that afterwards people will not say ‘well he didn't explain that part' and then he got into Yakub and the Island of Patmos and Scientology and the real nature I would say of the existing systems and racists that are on our planet because we are going through a transition from the old into the new if we can survive the change that is coming on our planet at this time.”

Student Minister Hilary Muhammad, the Nation of Islam's United Kingdom representative, described Saviours' Day 2011 as “amazing.”

“The experience of being here is something that every Black man and woman who desires consciousness has to experience so they can actually see and believe and know for a fact that we can build an independent nation, independent of the wicked rulers who have destroyed our lives,” said Hilary Muhammad. “We need to see it, we need to ingest it; we need to be imbued by it and once we've had this experience, we can never be the same again. You cannot be the same again after being in the presence of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan's followers.”

“I was very interested in hearing his take on world affairs,” Atty. Malik Zulu Shabazz, national chairman of the New Black Panther Party, told The Final Call. “Obviously, he has the greatest command of the people and the leadership so really I would have to say I will do whatever I can do to help him and I think that would be the position of most other leaders here,” he added.

“You can see—those of us who have been following the Minister—the strength of his delivery and the conviction of what he's bringing tells us that the time is very short on this world and all of the things that are taking place everything is speeding up,” Student Minister Ishmael Muhammad, Min. Farrakhan's assistant at Mosque Maryam in Chicago told The Final Call. “It was an absolutely magnificent representation of that truth that Allah has given to the Honorable Elijah Muhammad but that Allah is giving to him (Farrakhan) directly through him for us. We heard from God today.”
